Your information

PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This notice explains how London Shutter Specialists uses personal information when you visit our website, request a quote or use our shutter supply and fitting services.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

London Shutter Specialists is a trading name of M J Kloss Carpentry and Joinery Limited (company number 15532974), the data controller. Our contact address is 16–28 Penarth Street, London, SE15 1TX. For privacy questions, email info@londonshutterspecialists.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

When you enquire, we receive your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, chosen shutter style, the page where you submitted the form and any project details you provide. If you proceed, we may also need your property address, measurements, appointment details and order, payment and warranty records. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.

Our hosting provider processes technical information such as IP addresses, request times and browser details in security and access logs. Our form uses a hashed network identifier and a short-lived submission count to limit spam.

3. Why we use it and our lawful bases

4. Marketing choices

Where we have valid permission, we may email occasional shutter news and offers. Submitting an enquiry does not record a separate marketing opt-in. We need to establish the applicable permission before sending promotional emails. You can withdraw consent using the unsubscribe option in a marketing email or by emailing us. This does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use. Necessary messages about your enquiry or order are separate from marketing.

5. Who receives your data?

Our authorised team uses your details to handle your request. Trusted service providers, including eUKhost for website and email hosting, process information on our behalf. Where needed, we may share relevant details with suppliers or installers to fulfil your order, professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. We limit sharing to what is needed and require appropriate protection.

We do not sell your personal information or give it to third parties for their own marketing. If a service involves a restricted transfer outside the UK, we must ensure the applicable UK transfer requirements are met, for example through an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards.

6. How long we keep information

We keep enquiry information only while needed to respond, follow up and resolve relevant issues, and review it for deletion when it is no longer needed. Order and financial records are retained for the applicable statutory periods. Relevant project information may be needed for a warranty or a legal claim. Retention depends on the purpose and legal requirements; records are not kept indefinitely simply because storage is available.

Marketing records are reviewed for continued relevance. When you unsubscribe, we may keep the minimum suppression record needed to honour your request. The form's spam-control entries expire after one hour and are removed on the next submission. Hosting logs and mailbox backups follow the provider's retention arrangements.

7. Cookies and website services

Our cookie controls let you accept or reject optional tracking, or choose analytics and marketing measurement separately. Both are off until you opt in. You can change or withdraw your choices using Cookie settings in the footer. Rejecting tracking does not prevent you from calling us or requesting a quote. Cookie consent is separate from consent to promotional emails.

Essential storage: we save your choices, notice version and the time you chose in your browser under lss-cookie-consent-v1 for up to 180 days. Our hosting provider may also use security measures needed to protect the service. Fonts and website images are served with the site.

Google Analytics: with analytics consent, Google processes information about page visits, browser and device characteristics and successful enquiries to help us understand website use. Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_* identify returning browsers. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number, postcode or enquiry message to Google Analytics. Google advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our website tag.

WhatConverts: with marketing-measurement consent, WhatConverts uses visitor identifiers and campaign information to connect calls and form enquiries to their source. A tracking telephone number may replace our usual number while still connecting you to us. When you successfully submit the form, enquiry details may be processed by WhatConverts on our behalf. Its wc_ cookies and browser storage support visitor identification, attribution and number replacement. This tracking choice does not subscribe you to promotional emails.

Google and WhatConverts are service providers for these purposes. Their processing may involve countries outside the UK; applicable transfer safeguards are required as described above. You can read more in Google’s privacy policy and WhatConverts’ privacy policy. Withdrawal stops future optional tracking; it does not automatically erase information already received. Contact us if you wish to request deletion of personal information.

Telephone calls: calls to WhatConverts tracking numbers may be recorded for training and quality purposes, with an announcement at the start of the call. Call records can include the caller’s number, time, duration and recording. We use these for our legitimate interests in handling enquiries and reviewing service quality, balanced against your privacy rights. Please email us if you prefer an alternative contact method or wish to ask about a recording.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and can always object to direct marketing. Some rights have exceptions, for example where records must be kept by law. We may need to verify your identity and normally respond within one month.

Contact info@londonshutterspecialists.co.uk to make a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Changes and questions

We may update this notice as our services change. The date above shows the current version. For questions about a quote or installation, please use our contact page.
